About BalticSailing

About BalticSailing

2004 saw the start of a collaborative project involving 19 marinas, ranging from Ost Holstein-Lübeck to Fehmarn, Lolland and Falster and the isles. This partnership started as a joint EU project under the Interreg IVA BalticSailing programme.

In 2007, the number of marinas increased to 38, of which 19 are Danish and 19 are German.

At the present time, work is being done to add more partner marinas to the BalticSailing project.

Partners and purpose

The project partners are Lolland Municipality, Fonden Turist Lolland, Guldborgsund Municipality, VisitGuldborgsund and Arbeitsgemeinschaft der Sportboothäfen.

The purpose of BalticSailing is to develop, consolidate and market coastal tourism in the Fehmarn Belt region, with special emphasis on the marinas. It is particularly important to link maritime tourism with onshore tourism in the region and, in so doing, to develop new tourist products.
