Nakskov received its town charter in 1266 is still characterized by its history as a trading and seafaring town today. The tradition of shipbuilding in the town goes back to the 16th century when the naval yard was set up on Slotø.
Today wind turbines are produced on a large scale in one of the former boatyards. Nakskov harbour is an industrial and yacht harbour combined.
From the harbour there is direct access to the town with it many beautiful old buildings. A visit to the Nautical Museum or the tourist information office is the deal way to start a wonderful holiday.
